What are damages?

"Damages" has the same meaning as "compensation" with reference to personal injury compensation claims. It is the money you recieve to compensate for your injuries.

This is money which your lawyer has to pay to third parties to help prepare your case. For example, court fees, fees for medical or other expert reports.
